Migrate your data to Ghost for free
Our concierge team works full-time to make it as easy as possible for ambitious publishers to migrate to Ghost with minimal headaches. All you have to do is sign up for an annual Ghost(Pro) plan, and give us access to the data that you’d like to be migrated. We’ll take care of the rest.
Which platforms do you support?
We can help migrate your data from: Substack, WordPress, Medium, Revue, Squarespace, MailChimp, Tumblr, Buttondown, ConvertKit, HubSpot, Gumroad, Podia, Memberful, Pico, Jekyll, most static sites and, of course: any self-hosted Ghost installations.
Unfortunately we’re not currently able to help with migrations from Wix, Drupal, or any custom-built content management systems.
How much does a migration cost?
Concierge migrations are free and included with all annual plans on Ghost(Pro), except for the Starter plan. You’ll need to purchase a plan up front, and then we’ll get started. Please note: payments are non-refundable once our team has started work on your migration.

How long does it take to complete a migration?
Most migrations have a lead time of 1-3 weeks. Large or more complex migrations may require more time.
Can you import all of my paid subscribers?
Ghost uses Stripe Connect, so if your current platform also uses Stripe Connect—and you’re able to get the correct exports that contain the correct Stripe data—we can migrate your paid subscribers, no problem.
Subscribers can sign in to your Ghost publication using the same email address they used on your original platform—all of their payment details remain in place. Unfortunately we are not able to migrate subscribers from other third-party payment systems.
Can you transfer comments?
Ghost comes with comments out of the box that are tightly coupled to memberships. Because of this, we’re not able to transfer post comments or community discussions from any platform. If you currently use another platform like Disqus or Cove, you can integrate this yourself and continue using it.
Can you help customize my Ghost theme as part of the migration?
We can’t help you make edits to your theme, but we know lots of talented people who can, and they’re available for hire in our Ghost experts directory. They can help edit an existing theme, or design and build a custom theme from scratch.
Will moving to Ghost hurt my SEO?
If anything, it will help! Ghost is heavily optimised for SEO, with detailed structured data, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, permalinks, semantic markup, and blazing-fast performance. Our team is well-versed in the technical requirements for data migrations, and will make sure that appropriate URL structures, redirects and meta data are all in place. Many publishers find that their rankings improve after migrating.

Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and introduce yourself. Tell us about your publication and let us know why you’re looking to switch to Ghost. Share all the details and ask whatever questions you have—the more we know, the better.
We’ll reply with some answers and a few questions of our own to make sure we’re a good fit for your needs. If you don’t hear back from us right away, hang tight! You can generally expect replies between 8am and 6pm EST, Monday-Friday.
